Why Design Matters

February 10th, 2013

I stumbled upon an interesting post by blogger Erin Loechner of Design for Mankind that I want to share. She explores “Why Design Matters” in an attempt to come up with her perfect answer to the question she is frequently asked, ” What does your job entail?”
Erin writes:
“Design exists to assign meanings, create associations and support intentions. Yet it stops there; the next step is ours. Design can support our intentions, but it cannot choose them.”
She states:
“This exploration of design – serves as an intention for how I want to live. Slower, with greater meaning, and with an eye ever-searching for the beauty that exists in this world.”

Yes, I agree. Slower, with greater meaning, searching for beauty in our world…..that is living!
I, of course, am now a follower of Design for Mankind blog.
